The Rochester Red Wings erased a six-run deficit with a six-run sixth inning and pushed across the go-ahead run in the seventh to beat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 7-6 on Saturday night at ESL Ballpark.
The victory pushed Rochester into sole possession of first place in the International League second-half race with seven games remaining.
RailRiders build early lead
After falling behind 4-0 through three innings on solo home runs by Marco Luciano and Max Schuemann and a two-run blast from Yanquiel Fernández, Rochester looked headed for a difficult night before its offense erupted.
The RailRiders added two more runs in the sixth. Tyler Hardman doubled home Luciano before Duke Ellis singled in Hardman, extending the lead to 6-0.
