Your vote will determine who will be the Turf Masters Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for September 14-20. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Thursday.
The nominees are chosen by our sports reporters. If you would like to call attention to an athlete's performance to be considered for the nomination, please email sports@democratandchronicle.com. All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.
Now, let's meet the candidates.
Mallory Boyce
Batavia senior was the winner of the Kota-Reis Invitational, Byron-Bergen's cross country meet. Boyce won the 5K race
in 19 minutes, 44.9 seconds, the only time under 20 minutes.
Aliysiah Clark
Marcus Whitman soccer player totaled six goals and four assists across two wins for the Wildcats.
Addie Eckert
Canandaigua volleyball senior accounted for 15 digs against Batavia, one of which was the 500th of her varsity career.
Cara Elrod
Greece Odyssey-Olympia volleyball senior turned in 19 kills and 16 digs in a five-set win against crosstown rival Athena.
Ali Fowler
Geneseo soccer player had a hat trick in the Blue Devils’ win over LeRoy in LCAA action on Monday.
Audrey Gleghorn
Rush-Henrietta senior was the first-place finisher in a 5K race during the Newark Cross Country Invitational at Silver Hill Tech Park. Gleghorn's time was 20 minutes, 28 seconds. She was the only varsity runner to complete the course in less than 21 minutes.
Sadie Gursslin
Naples soccer player picked up three assists in the Big Green’s 7-0 win over South Seneca-Romulus to become the program’s all-time leader in career assists with 57.
Audrey Hogan
A senior at Mercy who played in three field hockey games with the East Rochester/Mercy team and four golf matches with the Monarchs. She shot the lowest score in two of the golf matches and finished with two goals and three assists in the field hockey games.
Emma LaBour
Midlakes volleyball senior posted a whopping 28 kills and 25 digs in a five-set victory over Waterloo. Two days prior, she accounted for 21 kills and 21 digs in a five-set win against LeRoy.
Aleah Nolan
Irondequoit volleyball senior recorded the 1,000th dig of her varsity career at the Victor tournament.
Adelaide Puccia
Penfield senior was medalist — she shot the lowest or best score — at two girls golf matches. Puccia's score of 35 over nine holes at Eagle Vale was one stroke over par. The 2026 Women's Rochester District Golf Association champion then shot a three-under par 34 at Penfield.
Lizzie Riley
Pittsford Sutherland soccer player had all three of her team’s goals in Monday’s win over Greece Olympia.
Nicole Vicente
Eastridge field hockey all-star scored three goals during a comfortable win over Brighton, then scored all of her team's goals to help the Lancers to a 3-2 upset win over Webster Thomas.
