A 39-year-old Rochester woman died Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle on North Clinton Avenue, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Pedestrian struck on North Clinton Avenue
Officers responded to the 200 block of North Clinton Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Officers found the woman, a Rochester resident, unresponsive in the roadway.
Rochester firefighters and AMR personnel treated the woman at the scene before she was taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital. She later died from her injuries.
Driver fled the scene
A preliminary investigation found that the vehicle was traveling on Clinton Avenue when it struck the woman and continued driving without stopping, according to police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
