The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for seven Western New York counties, with temperatures expected to drop to around 30 degrees overnight.
The warning is in effect from 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, through 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.
Which counties are under a freeze warning?
The warning covers Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, northern Cayuga, northern Erie and Genesee counties, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
Cities and communities in the warning area include Niagara Falls, Medina, Rochester, Newark, Fair Haven, Buffalo and Batavia.
The coldest temperatures are expected in rural areas away from the immediate lakeshores.
What does the freeze warning mean?
