A woman has died from injuries she suffered in an ATV crash earlier this month in Cortland County, according to New York State Police.
Woman swerved to avoid porcupine before crash
State police said Natasha R. Kinney, 34, of Cincinnatus, Cortland County, died July 26 from injuries she sustained in the July 7 crash.
Troopers responded around 11:50 p.m. July 7 to the 4200 block of Stramba Road in the town of Freetown for a reported ATV crash.
Investigators said Kinney was driving an ATV southeast on Stramba Road when she swerved to avoid a porcupine in the roadway. The maneuver caused the ATV to overturn and roll into a ditch, ejecting her from the vehicle.
Kinney was taken to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse with serious injuries. She died from those injuries on July 26, police said.
State police did not release additional information about the investigation.
