Halloween and trick-or-treating are just days away across New York. But what kind of weather can families expect at dusk on Halloween night? Will trick-or-treaters need extra layers, or should they bring umbrellas along with their flashlights?
“Halloween is one of those holidays when the weather can make a big difference in how families plan their evening,” AccuWeather lead long-range forecaster Paul Pastelok said in a news release.
While parts of the country could see rain, much of New York is currently forecast to have dry, though chilly, weather. Families may want to add an extra layer under their costumes.
Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service for Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31. The forecast could still change in the days
leading up to the holiday.
