Week 2 of Section V high school football continued on Saturday, Sept. 12 with a slate of afternoon games.

Avon and Vertus won big while Clyde-Savannah outlasted Red Jacket in overtime. Here are some of the area's notable performances from Saturday.

James Chase, Avon: Scored a touchdown on each of his three rushing attempts in a 47-0 win over Holley/Lyndonville, totaling 143 yards. Eli Rex, Aidan Stefaniak and Dylan Haberger each added a rushing TD. Chase has scored seven touchdowns on 12 touches through two games.

John Dolgos, Avon: Returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown to start the Riverhawks' 47-0 victory against Holley/Lyndonville.

John Hopper, Red Jacket: Recorded 10 tackles, including two for a loss, and a fumble recovery in a 22-14,

overtime loss to Clyde-Savannah. Brayden Bacon added eight tackles while Austin Rossignol logged five tackles and a sack.

Zy'Miere Tanskley, Vertus: Returned an interception for a touchdown and caught another during a 47-0 win against Rochester Prep.

Marlon Tillman, Vertus: Grabbed an interception then broke a touchdown rush on the Warriors' ensuing offensive possession amidst a 47-0 triumph over Rochester Prep.

Barret Wetherbee, Red Jacket: Rushed 18 times for 85 yards and a touchdown in an overtime loss to Clyde-Savannah. Brayden Lancaster added a touchdown run.
