New York State Police are investigating what they describe as the suspicious death of a woman found inside a home in the Adirondacks.
Just after 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, troopers responded to a residence on Carey Road in the Essex County town of Jay after receiving a report of a deceased woman.
Troopers found the woman dead inside the home. State police said her injuries were not self-inflicted but did not disclose the nature of those injuries.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police seek surveillance video
The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation. Detectives executed multiple search warrants and processed the scene Sunday.
Investigators are asking residents and businesses in the area to review
security camera footage for suspicious activity between 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2.
