The boater reported missing Saturday in Lake Ontario off Rochester was found and recovered Sunday evening following an extensive, multi-agency search, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities began searching Saturday after receiving reports of a missing person about 1.5 miles offshore of Charlotte Pier.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department, Irondequoit Fire Department, West Webster Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard and New York State Police Aviation assisted in the search.
The Sheriff's Office Marine Unit learned of the missing person through a maritime emergency channel. The report was later supported by multiple 911 calls.

The Sheriff's Office confirmed Sunday evening that the boater had been located and recovered.
Authorities have not released the person's identity or additional information about the circumstances surrounding the death.
"We extend our condolences to the individual's family and loved ones during this difficult time," the Sheriff's Office said.
