Juries have convicted two brothers accused of killing an Irondequoit couple and their two young children, then setting fires inside the family's home in 2024.
Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano was found guilty of murder, arson, kidnapping and burglary. His brother, Luis Francisco Soriano, was also found guilty of murder, arson, kidnapping and burglary Tuesday afternoon.
Irondequoit firefighters were called to Knapp Avenue early Aug. 31, 2024, and found multiple fires set around the home. In the basement, they discovered the bodies of four people: Fraime Ubaldo, 30; Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26; and the couple's two children, 4-year-old Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno and 2-year-old Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno.
They all had been stabbed to death.

Chief Scott Peters, a law enforcement veteran of more than 30 years, called the grisly scene the "worst thing I've ever seen."
During trial, prosecutors argued the brothers killed the family over a missing package of drugs delivered from Puerto Rico to Rochester, according to media reports. Fraime Ubaldo and the brothers were cousins. Video evidence showed the brothers leading the couple ― bound in zip ties and duct tape ― into the basement.
Defense attorneys said the men were concerned about missing drugs and money, but did not kill the family.
