A 22-year-old man from Baldwinsville was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday morning in Oswego County, according to New York State Police.
Fatal motorcycle crash in Schroeppel
Troopers responded around 7:34 a.m. Oct. 9 to the intersection of County Route 57 and Bankrupt Road in the town of Schroeppel.
A preliminary investigation found that the man was riding a 2024 motorcycle south on County Route 57 and attempting to pass a tractor-trailer when his motorcycle collided with a 2022 GMC Sierra pickup truck crossing the road. The pickup was driven by Thomas B. Wallace, 46, of Baldwinsville, police said.
The motorcycle caught fire after the collision. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Schroeppel is a town in Oswego County in upstate New York, near the city of Fulton.
The
crash remains under investigation, State Police said.
