
Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped custody on Monday from a facility in Augusta.
Christopher Craig fled from the Georgia Department of Corrections’ Augusta Transitional Center, located at 601 Taylor St., at about 5 p.m. on Aug. 3, noted a wanted poster issued by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. Officials said Craig was being held on multiple violent felony charges, including aggravated assault, escape, and drug-related offenses.
The wanted poster described Craig, 40, as 5-foot-10 and 192 pounds.
Law enforcement considers Craig potentially dangerous. The sheriff’s office is urging anyone who encounters him or has information about his whereabouts to
contact authorities immediately.
