A new dessert restaurant that promises "an indulgent selection of treats that will satisfy any sweet tooth" is coming to the Augusta area.
The Peach Cobbler Factory plans to open locations in Evans and Aiken, according to the company's website. The Evans restaurant is planned for the Evans Towne Center at 4272 Washington Road.
Brittany Blocker, owner of the new Evans location, said she intends to open the restaurant in October. Renovations to the new space are being done now.
She said the decision to open the restaurant came after visiting a Peach Cobbler Factory. She read an article about it and tried one in Atlanta and liked the desserts and the atmosphere.
"I thought this
would be wonderful to bring to the community," she said. "There's something for everyone" on the menu.
According to the company's website, The Peach Cobbler Factory has been operating since 2013 and is now in 25 states, including several shops in Georgia and South Carolina. The closest location to Augusta now is in Lexington, S.C.
The menu includes a wide variety of cobblers, all topped with ice cream. Also on the menu are cookies, banana and other puddings, sweet rolls, shakes, brownies, cheesecake, ice cream, and more. To view the menu, visit www.peachcobblerfactory.com.
Blocker said hiring for the restaurant begins this week. Anyone interested can apply through www.Indeed.com by searching for Peach Cobbler Factory in Evans.
The restaurant will be open from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday through Saturday. Blocker said late-night delivery until midnight will be offered on Friday and Saturday.
Another Peach Cobbler Factory will soon open in Aiken, according to the company's Facebook page. Former Aiken County schools superintendent Sean Alford and his wife Stephanie are opening the store at 1307 Richland Ave., Aiken Chamber of Commerce.
