A driver was taken into custody Sunday evening after leading Richmond County sheriff's deputies on a vehicle pursuit that ended with a rollover crash on Washington Road.
Deputies tried to stop a Nissan Rogue at about 6:30 p.m. on Washington Road near the John C. Calhoun Expressway, according to a social media post by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. The driver refused to stop, prompting a pursuit.
Authorities said deputies ended the pursuit by performing a PIT maneuver, causing the vehicle to roll over in the eastbound lanes of the 2500 block of Washington Road.
The driver was arrested at the scene. No further information was immediately available, noted the post.
