A Beech Island man died after a single-vehicle crash in Aiken County that occurred following a law enforcement pursuit, according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
Jarrett Dandridge, 39, was reportedly driving a 2015 Cadillac sedan and fleeing Richmond County sheriff's deputies at about 1:40 a.m. Aug. 8. The pursuit crossed into Aiken County, where Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputies continued the chase before terminating it, authorities said.
Deputies later responded to reports of a crash near Sandbar Ferry Road and Williston Road and found the overturned vehicle. Dandridge, the sole occupant, had been ejected from the sedan.
Aiken County EMS transported Dandridge to
WellStar MCG Health, where he died at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 9. The Aiken County Coroner's Office responded to investigate the death.
The coroner's office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted in Newberry, according to Coroner Darryl Ables.
