The defending GHSA Class 3A boys basketball state champions didn’t have to go far to find a new head coach.
Ezzard Horn, formerly an assistant coach for the team, will now assume the role of head coach following thedeparture of Lawrence Kelly earlier in the summer.
Horn has been a key part of the Razorbacks program for the last several years. He, along with Kelly, helped bring the program back to prominence during that stretch, winning three state championships in 2021, 2022 and 2026.

Horn now will
have the opportunity to lead the charge as the Razorbacks look to repeat for the second time during the 2020s. Amongst other players, he’ll have the highest rated player in Augusta, senior forward Frashad Tisby, on the roster to help him do that.
Beyond coaching on the hardwood, Horn has also been the football coach for Cross Creek going back to 2022. He’s expected to keep that position during the fall before transitioning to basketball in the winter.
