As authorities await autopsy results for a 9-year-old Columbia County boy, a crowdfunding campaign to honor his memory has raised more than $155,000.
Parents Charlie and Megan Moye found their middle son Hudson unresponsive in his bed the morning of Sept. 23, fundraiser organizer Lauren Payne explained on the online crowdfunding site GoFundMe.
Emergency personnel answering a call about CPR in progress in Martinez's West Lake subdivision were unable to revive the boy, according to the Columbia County Coroner's Office The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner's office told The Augusta Chronicle on Monday that autopsy results still are pending.

"The funds
raised here will be used to honor Hudson's legacy," the GoFundMe narrative said. "Over the coming days, weeks and months, his family will establish their vision for Huddy's legacy, whether that be a scholarship fund, a memorial event or a project or charity, and use this fund to carry forward that vision in a way that reflects their values, honors Hudson's memory and highlights his life’s impact on their family and in their community."
In the campaign begun the day Hudson died, 837 donors as of Monday afternoon have raised $155,016 toward a $160,000 goal.
Payne called the fundraiser "a tangible way for friends, family and the community to come together in support and love for the Moye family and show that Hudson’s life, his love and his spirit will be remembered and honored. We will remember him, we will speak his name, we will tell stories about him and we will carry his legacy forward."
