Families will have a chance to climb aboard and explore dozens of vehicles when the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department hosts its 24th annual Touch-A-Truck event on Sept. 12.
The free event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Odell Weeks Activities Center Soccer Field, 1700 Whiskey Road. Children can get an up-close look at a variety of vehicles from the City of Aiken, local businesses, and community organizations.
To make the event more accessible, organizers will offer a sensory hour from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., with limited sirens, lights and horns to provide a quieter experience for guests.
The event will also feature food vendors, activities and the return
of the Power Wheels Derby. The derby begins at 10 a.m. and is open to children ages 8 and younger.
Registration costs $5, and participants must bring their own helmet and vehicle. Register online at Power Wheels registration or in person at the Odell Weeks Activities Center.
