Week two of the high school football season here in Augusta has come and gone, which means we have a chance to look back at the top performances across high school sports over the last week. From dominant outings on the football field to the volleyball court or softball diamond, we've compiled a list of the top performances from a week ago.
Below are the nominees for the Athlete of the Week from last week's action. The poll will be open until Monday, Sept. 7 at 5 p.m.
Readers can nominate local athletes for future polls by emailing sports reporter Dhani Joseph (dajoseph@gannett.com) with the athlete's name, their sport, their school, their position, and two key stats from their performance (e.g. 250 passing yards, 3 TD).
