Aiken Regional Medical Centers will host an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 2 for its new freestanding emergency department, ER at Martintown, ahead of the facility’s planned September opening.
The new emergency department, located at 407 W. Martintown Road in North Augusta, will provide 24/7 emergency care for adults and children. During the event, Aiken Regional CEO Matt Merrifield and North Augusta Mayor Briton Williams will discuss the facility, its services and the impact expanded emergency care access will have on the growing community. Attendees will also be able to tour the facility and meet members of the ER at Martintown team.
The 12,032-square-foot
facility includes 13 private exam rooms, around-the-clock on-site physicians, laboratory services, CT scans and X-ray imaging. Patients who require hospitalization can be admitted directly to Aiken Regional Medical Centers or transferred to a hospital of their choice.
ER at Martintown will become Aiken Regional’s third emergency department serving Aiken County, joining the hospital’s main emergency department and ER at Sweetwater. According to the health system, ER at Sweetwater has treated an estimated 2,500 patients per month since opening in August 2022.
The open house begins at 1 p.m. Sept. 2, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 1:10 p.m. and tours running through 2 p.m.
