As we get closer to fall and hunting seasons resume, more Georgians will be looking for the best spots to pitch a tent.
Hipcamp is like Airbnb for campsites, RV parks, and glamping stays. On Tuesday, the platform released this year's Hipcamp Awards
, including the best camping sites in each state. It was based on data from bookings, reviews, and ratings of more than 500,000 campsites. Here are Georgia's top sites:Broad River Retreat
Comer, GA
Located right on Broad River, eagle spotting and colorful landscapes are common. It's within driving distance of Athens and a quarter mile down a winding dirt road. There's a small shed with an A/C unit, small fridge, and outlets. There's also a Weber charcoal grill. Reservations start at $100 per night.
Camp Joey
Locust Grove, GA
There
are two full hook-up 50 amp service sites, a swimming pool, cabana, and fresh eggs daily. Internet service will be offered at some point in the future. Reservations start at $40 per night.
Castleberry Bridge
Dawsonville, GA
This campsite sits on Etowah River and features a rope that lets you swing over the river and tubes you can rent for $10 per day. There's a community area with toilets, grills, and picnic tables. Reservations start at $49.
Deerfield Farms
Mitchell, GA
This working farm centers on a stocked pond ringed by open countryside. You can fish for bass and beam and hangout in the screened pavilion. Reservations start at $40.
Fruit Factory RV Site
Pavo, GA
Farm fans can pick fresh fruit and watch bees and butterflies work. There are trails you can walk and fish ponds. Reservations start at $60.
Lodge at Hartley Oaks
Folkston, GA
The lodge is located near Okefenokee Swamp nestled among towering oak trees and peaceful countryside. There are full guest bathrooms with hot showers. Reservations start at $15.

Piney Hills Campground
Mauk, GA
Another working farm with goats, ponies, emus, and geese. There are also miles of trails you can check out on foot or on golf cart (which you can rent). There are A-frame cabins and covered platforms. Guests also have access to free Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, bath houses with hot showers private fire pits, picnic tables, and grills. Reservations start at $32.
Rest and Relax Retreat
Mineral Bluff, GA
Sitting on the banks of Hothouse Creek, this campsite has 27 acres with hiking trails and flowing water. There's an indoor common house space featuring two full bathrooms with showers and an air-conditioned hang-out den with couches. Guests can also enjoy hammocks, smokeless fire pits, picnic benches, pop-up canopies, zero-gravity chairs, and charcoal grills. Reservations start at $30.
Rolling Ridge Stays
Resaca, GA
This campsite boasts three 120-square-feet cabins alongside a 1-acre private pond and sits on a working family flower farm. They do not have heating/cooling or electricity, but fans are provided. There are rolling hills with dogwoods and pines and a full bathroom with grid toilet, sink, and shower. The property has Civil War-era history and the hosts say guests have found Civil War relics on the property. Reservations start at $64.
Secluded Mountain Getaway
Trenton, GA
Here you can find rolling wooded countrywide offering a small creek, outhouse, and gazebo with electricity and lighting. Guests also have access to a microwave oven, and a fire pit with cooking grid you can place over the fire. Reservations start at $25.
Surewood ForRest
Heron Bay, GA
Four campsites sit on a small farm of 64 acres, 59 of which are wooded, plus two small creeks and trails. There are free range chickens, wild and domestic turkeys, peacocks, cats, goats, a donkey, and honeybees. Guests are welcome to pet and feed the animals. Reservations start at $30.
White Dog Farm camping
Cleveland, GA
Horse fans will enjoy this campsite, and you can even sign up for an "introduction to horsemanship." There are three sites available, and you can stay near the small flowing creek or in the larger space by the horseback riding ring. There are also picnic tables. The property is near Chattahoochee National Forest. Reservations start at $36.
