September has arrived, and Augusta-area residents looking for something to do this weekend have several options, like Aiken's Makin' or the Barnstorming tour, despite hot temperatures and the possibility of rain.
The National Weather Service forecasts highs in the low-to-mid 90s and overnight lows in the low 70s through the weekend. There's also a slight chance of thunderstorms Friday through Sunday.

When and where: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Augusta Regional Airport.
Details: The Commemorative Air Force Airbase Georgia fleet will offer visitors an opportunity to see historic World War II-era aircraft up close and purchase rides aboard

What: Aiken's Makin' Arts & Crafts Show
When and where: Friday and Saturday on Park Avenue between Chesterfield and Union streets in downtown Aiken.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
