Augusta University will conduct a planned emergency response exercise Thursday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to noon as part of its ongoing commitment to campus safety.
During the exercise, members of the university community may see emergency vehicles, law enforcement officers and emergency management personnel operating on the Health Sciences Campus, particularly around Pavilion II on Laney Walker Boulevard.
University officials emphasized that the activity is only a training exercise and that there is no actual emergency or threat to the campus or surrounding community.
The drills are designed to test emergency plans, strengthen coordination among responders, improve communication
and identify areas for improvement. Officials said such exercises help ensure personnel are prepared to respond effectively during real incidents.
If an actual emergency occurs during the exercise, all training activities will stop immediately and responders will transition to managing the situation.
