Laney High School is increasing security and law enforcement presence on campus following several altercations that occurred this week, according to a letter sent to families by school administrators.
School officials said student and staff safety remains the school's top priority and announced several immediate operational changes designed to maintain a secure learning environment.
Among the measures, the school has increased its School Resource Officer presence during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. Staffing rose from the usual two officers to three officers and will increase to four officers during transition periods for the remainder of the week.
