Aiken County Public School District has been named to Forbes’ America’s Best Employers By State 2026 list, marking the district’s second consecutive year and fourth overall appearance on the annual ranking.
ACPSD ranked No. 22 among 55 South Carolina employers recognized by Forbes, placing the district in the top 40% of employers on the statewide list, according to a news release. Among the five education institutions included, ACPSD ranked No. 3.

Superintendent Dr. Corey Murphy credited the district’s more than 3,000 employees for the recognition, saying their commitment to students, colleagues and the community makes ACPSD “a special place to learn and work.”
The district
previously earned spots on the Forbes list in 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2026, with this year’s recognition marking its second straight appearance.
Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to compile the rankings through an independent survey of more than 245,000 U.S. employees at organizations with at least 500 employees. More than 2 million employer evaluations were considered, with participants rating employers on factors including workplace culture, pay, advancement opportunities, and responses to workplace issues.
