A 17-year-old car passenger from Gwinnett County died late Wednesday after a two-vehicle collision on Jimmie Dyess Parkway in Martinez, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
A doctor pronounced Amiya Hogan of Snellville dead at Doctors Hospital at 11:48 p.m. Wednesday, according to the CCSO accident report.
Hogan was one of three teenagers in a 2010 Chrysler Sebring southbound on South Belair Road just before 9 p.m., the report said.
A traffic camera showed the Chrysler turn left into the path of a northbound 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA where Jimmie Dyess meets the Interstate 20 eastbound on-ramp, according to the report.
Charges of second-degree vehicular homicide
and failing to yield while turning left are pending against the at-fault Chrysler driver after she recovers from her injuries, CCSO Maj. Andy Shedd said in a statement.
