Families facing housing instability in Aiken County could receive support through proceeds generated by a community rummage sale at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Family Promise of Aiken County will transform the church gym into a large shopping event Sept. 18-19, according to a community announcement. The sale will offer thousands of items, including clothing, tools, jewelry, household goods, holiday decorations, children's items, luggage, and electronics, with prices beginning at $1.
A preview shopping event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 17. Admission is $10 per person.
The main sale will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept.18-19 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge
Road in Aiken. Admission to the public sale is free.
Sale proceeds support housing programs
Money raised from the event will help fund Family Promise of Aiken County programs focused on eviction prevention, shelter diversion, and other services aimed at helping families remain housed and work toward long-term stability.
According to the announcement, the organization's mission is to help families experiencing homelessness and low-income families achieve lasting independence through a community-based response.
