In a time where retail chains (especially clothing companies) are decreasing their footprint, Georgia not only got a new store, but a pretty big one.
On Thursday, Primark held the grand opening of its Augusta Mall location. It's housed on the top level of a defunct Sears, with the 28,000-square-foot store covered in clothing and accessories for customers of all ages and genders.
Jabrena Marshall said she heard about Primark from her boyfriend, and was glad to find a "nice, clean, well organized" atmosphere with plenty of deals. Meanwhile, Kayla Spencer said she's been a fan of Primark after learning about it on TikTok last year, and stood for 3 1/2 hours this morning waiting for it to open.
"It was amazing," Spencer said. "The prices were great....Definitely
somewhere I'm going to come back to."
What is Primark store?
One of the biggest claims-to-fame is how affordable everything is. You can find $10 shirts, a sweater or hoodie for under $20, footwear for under $30, bags for under $50, and luggage for under $100.
Despite the price, these are not dollar-store items. We found multiple pieces of clothing made of soft, flexible fabrics. The luggage and shoes seemed durable yet comfortable. Also, while there were some solid and patterned pieces, there was also a ton of merch depicting characters from Disney Gilmore Girls, Georgia sports teams, bands like My Chemical Romance, and other brands.
The style skews simple but stylish, with looks largely geared towards casual and comfort attire. There are some more semi-professional and formal options, but they are more limited.
When is Primark Augusta Mall open?
The Augusta Primark opened Thursday noon-7 p.m. and will be open Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday noon-6 p.m., and Monday-Wednesday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Primark near me
The Augusta Mall's Primark is on the top floor near Dillard's and shares the same parking lot as the food court.
The first Georgia Primark is at Sugarloaf Mills shopping center in Lawrenceville. It's across from Zales, next to Bath & Body Works.
Primark jobs
Primark has 13 openings at its Augusta location and eight at its Lawrenceill location. Some are full time, others part time or seasonal. They can all be found at careers.primark.com/en/search-jobs.
