Williamson County will have a new mayor for the first time in over two decades.
There is a two-candidate race for the seat in the Aug. 6 general election.
Andy Marshall has received endorsements from current mayor Rodgers Anderson along with the mayors of all Williamson County cities. He is running as a Republican. His opponent, BK Muvvala is running as an Independent.
Several Williamson County School Board seats are also up for election.
The Franklin Special School District has three seats up for reelection. Half of the Williamson County Commission seats are contested.
Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Hughes (R) is unopposed as the incumbent. Debbie McMillan Barrett (R) for circuit court clerk, Karen Paris for County Trustee, Margaret Gurley Mahew
for Juvenile Court Clerk, Jeffrey Whidby for Court Clerk, Sherry D Anderson for register of deeds are also unopposed in the general election.
