A La Vergne woman is facing a felony charge after an early morning wreck killed a man.
Nashville Police said Lizbeth Delgado Cruz, 32, was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication after a 2:50 a.m. wreck Aug. 11.
Delgado Cruz was traveling west on Harding Place in her 2004 GMC Yukon when she ran a red light at the Harding Place and Linbard Dive intersection, police said in a statement. At the same time, Martin Villagomez Jr., 30, was traveling through the intersection on Linbar Drive.
Delgado Cruz's SUV his the driver's side of Villagomez's 2019 Nissan Altima.
Both were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Villagomez died at the hospital.
"A nurse informed officers at the hospital that they detected an odor of alcohol
on Delgado Cruz. She sustained non-life threatening injuries," police said.
Delgado Cruz will be arrested upon her dismissal from the hospital, police said.
