The Tennessean's Pet of the Week is returning with nine available animals in shelters and rescue groups across Middle Tennessee, and it's time for you to vote on your favorite.
The lineup includes a mix of eight nominees ranging from playful pups to cuddly kitties from around the Nashville and surrounding Middle Tennessee areas.
Take a look and read what was said about each animal and then vote in the poll at the bottom of this story. Who knows, you could help a pet find their forever home!
We'll get into some more specific categories in future polls as we proceed with Pet of the Week. The poll is open now through noon Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Here are this week's animals, along with the shelter/rescue where they live, with the voting poll located at the bottom
of the page.
Cole
Cole is a three month old male Lab/Dachshund mix. Vetted, neutered and great with children, dogs and cats. Adorable energy in a small package! Cole is with 3 Friends Animal Rescue in Clarksville.
Cora
Cora is a young female Pit Bull Terrier mix. She is fully vetted, loves people and lots of outdoor activities. Cora is with Montgomery County Animal Care & Control in Clarksville.
Cloud & Storm
Cloud & Storm are bonded kittens. Cloud is male, Storm is female and both are vetted and litter trained. Cloud loves a good adventure and exploring while Storm prefers a more calmer lifestyle. Both are with Mikaela's Mutt Motel in Clarksville/Woodlawn.
Banshee
Banshee is a large female Labrador/Saint Bernard mix. She is vetted, house trained and great with older kids (due to her energy) and other dogs. Banshee has been trained to use the word mats and can "talk" to you using her buttons. She is fun, sweet and sassy and will be a wonderful adventure partner.
Banshee is with Kaylee's Island for Misfit Dogs Rescue and Sanctuary.
Henry
Henry is a curious, affectionate, and patient senior who appreciates life’s quieter moments—cozy places to lounge, a peaceful home, and a loving person nearby. While in the shelter, he has blossomed from a shy, reserved cat into a sweet companion who actively seeks out attention and wants to spend as much time with people as possible.
Henry is looking for a home without other cats and would do best with adults or older, respectful children who understand that he prefers affection on his own terms. He is ready to spend his golden years by your side, rewarding you with affection, loyalty and plenty of love.
Henry is available at Williamson County Animal Center.
Toben
Toben is a young male Hound /part water creature! He absolutely loves being in and around water activities. He has been training with Dock diving and doing fantastic. Fully vetted, neutered, house trained and great with dogs, Toben is available with Two Ladies Caring Dog Rescue in Woodlawn.
Queen
Queen is a three-year-old, 61-pound female from Maury County. Staff at Maury County Animal Services describe this sweet girl as "regal, majestic and beautiful," with a calm demeaner and a huge love for walks.
Queen is also good with other dogs and is available to take home from Maury County Animal Services in Columbia.
Eclair
With lots of energy and a love for the outdoors, one-year-old Eclair is eager to find his forever family.
While still young and learning, Eclair is a quick learner and great with other dogs. Just be ready for lots of activity for this growing boy.
