TSSAA volleyball state tournament storylines
Eagleville seeking back-to-back titles
Eagleville is looking to repeat as champion in Class A, a feat last achieved by Summertown in the 2019-2020 seasons. Eagleville claimed its first-ever state title last season with a 3-1 victory over Gordonsville, as the program made its first championship appearance since 1999. Last season's state tournament MVP Campbell Leathers leads the Lady Eagles with 471 kills this season, while junior Kinni Rose Campbell has been equally impactful with 1,101 assists.
Who can stop Valor Prep in Class AA?
Two-time defending state champion Valor College Prep is back, seeking a third consecutive title in Class AA. After finishing state runner-up in 2023, Valor Prep went on to win back-to-back titles and enters this season's tournament as the favorite to claim a third. Valor Prep won district and region titles this season before breezing through sectionals with a victory over Farview in straight sets. Leading the Lady Wildcats is last season's state tournament MVP Jentelle McNairl, along with 2024 MVP Kerrington Corbin and senior Anarela Mejias Ayala.
Williamson County's continued dominance in Class AAA
The past two years have featured an all-Williamson County final in Class AAA, but will the trend continue this season? In 2024 it was Nolensville which claimed the title over Brentwood, then last season Summit knocked off Brentwood in the championship game for its first-ever title. Summit is back this season, but it finished district and region runner up to Franklin, which looks the team to beat in Murfreesboro this season.
