There was an unopposed race for Robertson County mayor Aug. 6, though longtime sitting Mayor William A. "Billy" Vogle did not seek re-election.
Vogle was first elected mayor in Aug. 2018. He's being replaced by former Robertson County Commissioner Keith Hoover, a Republican, in the office.
Robertson County Sheriff Michael (Mike) Van Dyke also ran unopposed as a Republican incumbent. He was first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.
Four contested Robertson County Commission seats were up for election.
Unopposed in the general election were Kristy Eden Chowning (R) for circuit court clerk, Angie Holt Groves (R) for county clerk, Kendra (Shepard) Shelton (R) for trustee and John West (R) for register of deeds.
Thousands flocked to the polls to cast
ballots on Election Day.
Robertson County has 51,786 registered voters and 9,324 of them, or 18%, voted in this election, according to the local election commission.
The Aug. 6 election results are unofficial until certified by the Robertson County Election Commission later in the month.
