Country artist Bailey Zimmerman has canceled his upcoming European tour, telling fans he will take time to focus on "important family matters" instead.
The multi-platinum singer-songwriter will not perform 10 shows on the next leg of his Different Night Same Rodeo Tour, which were scheduled to take place between Aug. 27 and Sept. 12 in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Norway.
Zimmerman made the announcement via social media, where he told fans it was "not an easy decision."
"I wanted to let you all know personally that I unfortunately have to cancel my UK/Europe shows," he wrote. "This was not an easy decision and it kills me to have to cancel because I know how excited everyone is… but right now I need to take this time to focus
on important family matters."
The "Chevy Silverado" singer went on to say "Everything is okay, it's just my family needs my attention and that's what I've gotta do."
Zimmerman also said he would still perform his shows in August as scheduled. They include an August 6 date in Bethlehem, Pa., and stops in Wisconsin, Mo., and his home state of Illinois for the Illinois State Fair on Aug. 14. The “Rock and a Hard Place” and "Fall In Love" hitmaker went on to apologize for disappointing his fans.
"I will be taking some more time to focus on me, my family, and new music," he wrote. "Once again I'm so sorry to everybody that has waited so long… I hope y'all can understand that my family has to come first.
"Thank you for having my back on this crazy ride we call life," he said.
The news follows a pair of previous show cancellations earlier in the year. Zimmerman canceled a show in Albuquerque on May 27 a few hours before he was scheduled to take the stage. The incident led to a pair of criminal charges after Zimmerman was accused of causing damage to his hotel room, which were reportedly dropped after a private resolution. On July 26, Zimmerman also had his show at the Delaware State Fair cut short due to a power outage.
The Different Night Same Rodeo Tour began in February and has visited more than two dozen cities across the U.S. and Canada. Zimmerman headlined a show in Nashville at Ascend Amphitheater on May 1. When announcing the tour last year, he noted it would mark his first time playing arenas. The tour is named after his second album, "Different Night Same Rodeo."
Zimmerman still has a series of U.S. fair and festival dates set for September. And he is scheduled to visit Australia for five shows in October. Tickets for those dates are still available.
