Jeffery Simmons heard fans booing and didn't blame them.
The Tennessee Titans All-Pro defensive tackle says he understood their frustration after Tennessee secured its worst start since 2009 in a 26-3 loss against the Houston Texans on Oct. 11 at Nissan Stadium.
A decent showing of faithful fans in the lower bowl responded with boos during a tumultuous third-quarter drive and again as the game went final.
“(We) continue to try to not let the visiting teams take over our stadium; winning will cure everything and we’re not playing good football right now. We’re 0-5,” Simmons said. “Fans want to win too. I feel them.
"We’re 0-5. Do you hate to hear boos at home? Yes. But we’re 0-5.”

The Titans are 19-54 since 2021 and just 2-18 at Nissan Stadium the past three seasons. The booing isn’t new, but the volume against Houston was the loudest it's been this season.
The Titans (0-5, 0-1 AFC South) weren’t competitive against the Texans (1-4, 1-1) outside of holding them to four first-half field goals. Houston eventually broke through and never was threatened in the second half.
“Of course,” Tennessee receiver Elic Ayomanor said if he understood fans’ frustration. “They come to see us win. They don’t come to see us lose. So, I’ll never blame them for how they react. It’s our job to force them to react in a positive way. If that’s how they feel, that’s how they feel.”
