Brady Weldon, also known as The Rock 'N' Roll Reverend, will perform at the Roy E. Barberi Theater in Brentwood, Tennessee, on Aug. 1 in a spiritual show combining faith, classic rock and 1980s hits — plus, a charitable cause.
Weldon, originally from Martin, Tennessee, is partnering on the performance with the Tennessee Alliance for Kids, an organization that helps empower local children and provide resources and support to families impacted by foster care. In the last decade, the organization has supported over 10,000 children statewide.
Nashville-based hip-hop artist Leighton Rhodes will kick off this Saturday's musical evening and philanthropic event. Other featured performers will include Kelly King, Sean Michael Murray, Laurin Floyd Turner
and John Orr Franklin. The show's doors open at 6 p.m., and the music starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online for $39.
Weldon, a self-described "proclaimer, entrepreneur, artist, mentor, author and follower," has spent more than 35 years in ministry. In January, he released "The Undoing of Not Doing: Why hesitation is ruining your future," a book about spiritual success and self-motivation.
In addition to working with local Nashville churches, Weldon has also helped lead overseas and domestic disaster relief missions through Brady Weldon Ministries.
"Music has always been one of the most powerful ways to connect with people," he said. "My goal is simple: create an experience where people can sing, laugh, remember, and leave feeling encouraged. We all need a little more hope in our lives, and sometimes a great rock song is the perfect place to find it."
