An area around the Dickson and Montgomery County line is shut down after a deputy shot and killed a person.
The circumstances of the shooting, which happened at Highway 48 North and Little Barton's Creek Road Aug. 28, are not yet clear, but the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed at least one person is dead.
"No deputies were injured in the incident," the Sheriff's Office said in a post on social media early Aug. 28.
The area around the shooting will be shut down for an extended period of time while the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation handles the case.
"More details will be provided later this morning as we can release them," the Sheriff's Office said. "Please keep those involved in your thoughts and prayers."
