After 35 years of public service, 24 of those as Davidson County Sheriff, Daron Hall is retiring.
"He has a rare opportunity in the private sector which requires his departure from office by November 1," a statement from the Sheriff's Office said on Oct. 7. "Hall's last day with the DCSO is scheduled for October 19."
Hall was elected to his seventh term as sheriff earlier this year.
"Over the years, there have been other opportunities, but the timing and circumstances were never right,” Hall said. “While leaving after 35 years of service is not an easy decision, I believe the sheriff’s office is well-positioned for the future with strong, capable, and experienced leadership. I am committed to doing everything I can to ensure a smooth transition,
both before and after my departure.”
