Tennessee Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk sat at the center of a group of Titans coaches and executives, including head coach Robert Saleh, and introduced a team-wide ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in support of soon-to-be Titans Ring of Honor inductee Chris Johnson's battle against ALS.
Adams Strunk and Saleh sat alongside co-owner Kenneth Adams IV, CEO Burke Nihill and general manager Mike Borgonzi as the five participated in the viral challenge from the parking lot of the Vanderbilt Health Football Center. The challenge, which initially originated in 2014 to raise money and awareness for ALS research, has resurfaced since Johnson went public with his diagnosis in June.
"We're doing the challenge in support of our friend and teammate Chris
Johnson," Adams Strunk said in the video. "We're thinking of him and his family and can't wait to see him at our first game of the season when we induct him into the Titans Ring of Honor."
Toward the end of the video, Saleh challenged the rest of the NFL's 31 teams to replicate the challenge and to continue spreading the challenge across the country.
The Titans will induct Johnson, who played with the team from 2008-13, into the Ring of Honor at halftime of the team's game against the New York Jets on Sept. 13.
