The Sept. 19 NASCAR Bass Pro Shops Night Race was a little more eventful than usual. The race took a turn when Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar began fighting.
Blaney crashed out of the race on Lap 457
. Hocevar was attempting to pass Blaney on the inside as the two were battling for second place. Blaney tried to stop Hocevar but was unsuccessful. He made contact with the front of Hocevar's No. 77 car and was sent spinning.After the race ended and Joey Logano was declared the winner, Blaney stormed over to Hocevar and shoved him. Hocevar responded by punching Blaney and a fight ensued.
Hocevar threw a few more punches and Blaney fell to the ground. The two were pulled away from each other but Blaney continued to yell and ran back toward Hocevar to continue the altercation.
"There wasn’t a whole lot of talking. He just kind of said one thing and then went after me," Hocevar said on the USA broadcast after the fight. "I wasn’t going to take it."

The Bass Pro Shops Night Race is a 500-lap race around Bristol Motor Speedway's 0.533-mile oval track. It totals 266.5 miles.
The inaugural Bass Pro Shops Night Race was held in 1978.
Who is Carson Hocevar?
Hocevar, 23, has been driving the No. 77 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series for three seasons, according to his NASCAR biography.
He started his career in 2019 in the Craftsman Truck Series mostly on shorter tracks as he was too young to compete in larger circuit races.
Who is Ryan Blaney?
Blaney, 31, is in his ninth season driving the No. 12 Team Penske Ford Mustang for team owner Roger Penske. He is in his 11th season of full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition, according to his NASCAR biography.
Blaney has won the NASCAR Xfinity Series seven times and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series four times.
