The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Serieswill return to St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2027 and share the billing with the NTT IndyCar Series' Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Green Savoree Racing Promotions announced on July 23.
The Trucks Series race will be run again on the temporary street circuit where it debuted on Feb. 28, 2026. It is a 1.8-mile, 14-turn street circuit that winds around Pioneer Park
.The 2027 Trucks Series race will be on March 6, one day before the IndyCar Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
“The 2026 event was our best yet,” Green Savoree co-owner and chairman/CEO Kim Green said in a release. “Spectator
attendance was tremendous on all three days to witness history made with the NASCAR Trucks racing for the first time on a street circuit and IndyCar kicking off its season once again. We look forward to having both of these series back together on track for our fans to enjoy at the 23rd annual Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg weekend.”
Truck Series points leader Layne Riggs, in the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford, won the 2026 OnlyBulls Green Flag 150 in St. Petersburg. IndyCar points leader Alex Palou won the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg for the second year in a row on March 1. Palou won his fifth race of the 2026 season at the Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway on July 20.
“It is an amazing place to come, and I don’t know why we couldn’t come back next year,” Riggs told NASCAR.com. "I couldn’t believe how packed the grandstands were, and I thought it was one of the best road-course races the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has ever seen.”
