A 10-year-old girl was hospitalized after being hit by a truck after getting off a school bus on Aug. 31 in Dickson, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on private property in the 1600 block of Highway 48 South, a preliminary report from THP showed. The child was near the side of a driveway over "a slight hill crest" when she was struck by a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500.
The bus was not at the scene at the time of the wreck, THP Sgt. Andrew Perez said Sept. 1 in an email. He said the girl was taken by helicopter to an area hospital, but he declined to say where the child was taken or the extent of her injuries, stating THP does not release those details.
