Pilgrimage Festival will be back, just not this year.
Organizers sent an email Sept. 14 announcing that the music and cultural festival at the Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin will return April 10 and 11, 2027.
The festival celebrated its 11th year in 2025 but announced in March that it would take 2026 off. All its previous dates were in the fall, so it's only half a year behind schedule.
The annual festival survived severe weather in 2018, which canceled all but a few hours of the event, and then the pandemic, which prevented a 2020 festival from happening.
Pilgrimage tickets for 2027 are not yet on sale, nor have any performers been announced.
It's not the only Tennessee music festival that's been plagued by canceled years and inclement weather.
Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival announced last month that it too will take a year off in 2027 and return in 2028.
Organizers invested millions in infrastructure improvements before Bonnaroo returned this year, though attendees still encountered muddy conditions, a weather evacuation and a temporary power outage. Organizers cited those improvements when announcing the 2027 cancellation and said they had improved the venue's resiliency.
But years of storms, including the one on Sunday during this year's festival, led to the need for a break.
