A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a pickup truck at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 5700 block of River Road in Nashville, according to police.
The man killed was reportedly lying in the roadway when he was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck heading west on River Road. The man died on the scene.
The driver told police that he was unable to avoid him. The driver showed no signs of impairment, police said.
The man who died is believed to be age 52, but has not been identified.
The area of River Road where the fatality occurred is on a hill with a curve and no streetlights.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will work to identify the pedestrian, police said.
