College Hills Church of Christ will hold its annual school supply and clothing giveaway from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 1.
The church is located at 1401 Leeville Pike in Lebanon, and the giveaway open to students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The event is designed for Wilson County students whose families may need assistance starting the school year.
The parking lot will open at 8 a.m., and all items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Both the student and a parent or guardian must be present to receive supplies.
College Hills Church of Christ has conducted the giveaway for more than 30 years. It's regularly on the Saturday before Wilson County Schools and the Lebanon Special School District start classes, which this
year is Aug. 3.
Last year the ministry helped more than 700 students representing more than 330 families, volunteer Nancy Ash said. More than 200 volunteers also participate.
The giveaway relies on monetary contributions and donations of backpacks and other school supplies.
