The Tennessee high school football's Week 1 had its share of big rivalry games (Alcoa-Maryville), state championship rematches (Baylor-Brentwood Academy) and overtime thrillers (Lipscomb Academy-McCallie).
This week could be more of the same, particularly in the Nashville area with key contests that includes Metro Nashville teams, Williamson County rivals and private vs public clashes.
Here are the top 10 games of the TSSAA season for Week 2.

East Nashville (1-0) at Antioch (1-0)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
No one told Class 2A East Nashville it wasn't supposed to beat a 6A talent like Collierville. The Eagles' 19-7 win over the Dragons was one of the surprising results from last week's season openers. Now it faces fellow Metro
Nashville Public School power led by Mr. Football finalist, and Colorado commit, Andre Adams. East Nashville swarmed Collierville and could pose huge problems for a Bears team that could struggle to protect Adams this season.

Lipscomb Academy (0-1) at Ravenwood (1-0)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
Lipscomb Academy went toe-to-toe with McCallie in Week 1 but Mustangs coach Trent Dilfer's return to Tennessee high school football was spoiled in overtime. Turner White's 30 pass attempts showed Dilfer's willingness to throw the ball as White finished with 190 yards and two TDs, but how Dilfer's defense holds up against a Ravenwood team that put up 29 points on one of the better private schools in Mississippi, Madison Ridgeland Academy, will be the deciding factor.

CPA (0-1) at Pearl-Cohn (0-1)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 27
Pearl-Cohn had MBA on the ropes last week but the Big Red rallied in the second half. The first month of the season is daunting for the Firebirds and it gets no easier this week despite CPA's 56-7 loss to Oakland last week. The Lions still have stars like Gabe Cabell and coach Ingle Martin's son, Wright Martin, as receiver targets.

Mt. Juliet (0-1) at Beech (0-1)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
Mt. Juliet was thoroughly dominated by Antioch in Week 1 while Beech let its first half lead slip away in a low-scoring 15-13 game against Green Hill. Bucs coach Anthony Crabtree has been around long enough to not allow the same mistake to happen two weeks in a row. He'll continue to pound the ball with running back Devin Crutcher who had 139 rushing yards last week.

Brentwood (1-0) at Brentwood Academy (0-1)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
Brentwood Academy gets a mulligan, right? It played top-ranked Baylor close for over two quarters before one of the best running backs in the nation — Tennessee commit David Gabriel Georges — broke free in the second half to put the Eagles away last week. BA has talent all over the field and maybe most impressive was quarterback, and Mississippi State commit Crews Jenkins, who threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Brentwood will have issues figuring out which BA threat to neutralize.

Springfield (1-0) at Clarksville (0-1)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
For over 100 years, Springfield and Clarksville have played. It's one of the oldest high school football rivalries in the state. The Yellow Jackets have won three of its last five against Clarksville and are coming off a 35-3 rout of Rossview. But Clarksville is a notch above the Hawks, defensively. However, no on on its roster is to the caliber of five-star recruit Jermaine Cobbins whose first offensive touch of the 2026 season last week resulted in a touchdown.

Nashville Christian (1-0) at Ensworth (1-0)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
This is an intriguing Week 2 matchup. The two-time defending Division II-A state champion Cougars face DII-AAA Ensworth, which stifled Whitehaven last week, 24-8. Ensworth's EJ Gibson is off to a fast start after running for 213 yards. He may be too much for Nashville Christian's defense, which played well in its season opener, holding Davidson Academy to just seven points.

Green Hill (1-0) at Page (1-0)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
Green Hill's offense struggled against Beech, but its defense was solid. Page had no such issues offensively, putting up 48 on Giles County in Week 1. The last three times these two teams have played, Page scored 48, 44 and 31 points in wins. This game could have similar results.

Giles County (0-1) at Henry County (1-0)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
Henry County was impressive in its season opener against Haywood, outlasting the Tomcats, 31-28. Giles County projects to be a solid team so its 48-14 loss to the defending 5A state champs in Week 1, is not overly concerning. Facing another 5A power may result in an 0-2 start for the Bobcats.

East Robertson (1-0) at Pope John Paul II (0-1)
Time: 7 p.m. | When: Aug. 28
Pope John Paul II has a difficult schedule to navigate. East Robertson may be 2A, but its a 2A team with one of the top small class QBs in Middle Tennessee with Kason Young who ran and threw for over 100 yards last week. JPII's next three games include Columbia Academy, FRA and Goodpasture.
