Lost in the surprise of the Nashville Predators' 5-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 8 were two injuries.
Entering the third period, the Predators announced that forward Mavrik Bourque and defenseman William Trudeau would not return to the game. Both suffered upper-body injuries earlier in the game.
Bourque's final shift came with 8:41 left in the second period. During that final shift, he was seen wincing after a hit by Alex Newhook along the boards. He also appeared to shake his right hand before coming off the ice.
Here's Mavrik Bourque's last shift against the Canadiens last night, as caught by the Preds broadcast crew.

Bourque, a center, was the biggest addition this summer by general
manager Chris MacFarland. After acquiring him from the Dallas Stars, MacFarland signed Bourque to a six-year, $33 million contract. The 25-year-old has one assist in four games this season.
The Predators did not update Bourque's status after the game. Nashville's next game is at the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 10 (6 p.m. CT, The Spot Nashville 28), when we should learn more.
The injury to Trudeau is less clear. The defenseman played 4:39 in the first period, but did not return for the second period.
The Predators claimed Trudeau off waivers from the New York Rangers on Sept. 26. He made his NHL debut against the Dallas Stars on Oct. 1 and has played in three games this season.
Nashville is still also dealing with an injury to backup goaltender Justus Annunen. He was ruled out for three games with an upper-body injury, but has been practicing and should return soon. Matt Murray, who was recalled from Milwaukee, is the backup to Juuse Saros for now.
