As we head into the final weeks of the TSSAA football regular season, the races for the state's top individual honor are beginning to come into view.
Every year the TSSAA names a Tennessee Titans Mr. Football in each classification, as well as a Kicker of the Year, based on performances throughout the regular season along with academics and character.
For the remainder of the regular season, each week, The Tennessean will rank the top five players on our Mr. Football watchlist for every classification, highlighting the athletes we believe have the best shot of claiming the award in December.
Our first ranking for Division II-AA Mr. Football was released on Oct. 15.
Here's The Tennessean's updated Mr. Football watchlist for DII-AA entering Week 10
of the TSSAA football season.

Ranking TSSAA Mr. Football prospects in Division II-AA
1. Maddox Porter
BGA | Sophomore | WR
Why chosen: Porter remains at No. 1 after catching four passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in BGA's 35-0 win over Pope John Paul II in Week 9. Perhaps the best pass catcher in the state, Porter will have to find a way to produce without teammate, BGA quarterback Bo Bryan, who's expected to be out until playoffs with a broken collarbone. On the season Porter is up to 44 receptions for 848 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 106 receiving yards.
Last week: No. 1
2. Omarii Sanders
FRA | Senior | DB/WR
Why chosen: Sanders has been limited in his offensive role in recent weeks, but there's no denying the Vanderbilt commit is one of the state's most formidable two-way weapons. With the Panthers off in Week 9, Sanders has totaled 37 tackles, two interceptions and a defensive touchdown, while adding 347 total yards and five touchdowns on offense.
Last week: No. 3
3. Maximus Curry
BGA | Junior | ATH
Why chosen: With BGA quarterback Bo Bryan out for the foreseeable future, much of the offensive load will now fall on Curry, who took over as QB after Bryan went down in Week 9. Curry had two catches for 65 yards and a touchdown, 10 rushes for 72 yards and a touchdown, while completing 3-of-7 passes with a touchdown and two interceptions. On the season he's recorded 775 all-purpose yards and 12 total touchdowns for the defending state champions.
Last week: Not ranked
4. Kwadir Fletcher
FRA | Senior | RB
Why chosen: Fletcher and the Panthers enjoyed an open date in Week 9. It surely provided some much-needed rest for Fletcher, who's carried the offensive load for FRA this season, averaging 8.9 yards per carry as he's rushed for 1,092 yards and 25 touchdowns through eight games.
Last week: No. 5
5. Terrion Thomas
Knoxville Grace | Senior | ATH
Why chosen: Thomas was a standout for the Rams in a 31-27 defeat to CAK in Week 9, recording eight catches for 74 yards while rushing seven times for 29 yards and three touchdowns. He's now up to 1,056 all-purpose yards and 21 total touchdowns this season, with 608 receiving yards on 43 catches.
Last week: No. 4
