Vanderbilt football has canceled the return trip of what was originally set to be a home-and-home series against NC State, according to a report from On3.
According to On3, Vanderbilt will need to pay NC State $1 million to cancel the game.
Back in June, the Commodores
announced a home-and-home series against Virginia, with the initial game taking place in 2028 on the same date the Wolfpack had originally been scheduled.Vanderbilt (2-0) is set to host NC State (1-1) at FirstBank Stadium on Sept. 19 as its final nonconference game before beginning SEC play. Jared Curtis, the 5-star freshman quarterback, is set to make his first career start in the contest.
The home-and-home series against NC State was originally scheduled in 2016.
According to FBSchedules,
the Commodores also have games scheduled against Tennessee State and Akron in the 2028 season.
