Four tow trucks sat by idle as several men eyed a tractor trailer embedded into the front of an East Nashville grocery store.
They strategized as they considered the best way to tow the detached rig from the ALDI on Gallatin Avenue Sept. 17.
Metro Nashville Police officers were first called to the scene just after midnight, when the store’s alarm was triggered.
When they showed up they found the trailer, which had hauling groceries, peeled open like a can of soup where it hit the stores front facade.
The cabin of the truck detached and stopped in the middle of an aisle inside the store. No one was inside at the time of the wreck.
By 6:50 a.m., the scene had been taped off with yellow tape. The back of the truck was opened and the groceries removed.
